Today was our last full day in Yakima and it was a good one. We served again at a homeless mission, finished painting the house we were working on, did some demolition work around the farm and finished painting the inside of one of the houses on the farm. In the evening we hosted two dozen of the local children for a vacation bible school. It was really amazing to see our students love those kids so well. I was really proud of them.

Tomorrow morning we pack up and head for the border. We expect to be back on Klamath Falls around 5 pm, with time for dinner, worship and the grand revealing of our secret prayer buddies. We’ve loved it here, and it’s been such a blessing to see evidence that God had this planned all along and has been so faithful to us.

Please pray for safe travel and alert minds for our drivers. It’s about an 8 hour drive tomorrow and another 7 on Saturday. We would love it if you prayed for our caravan and for energy to finish strong in this great journey we’ve been on.

See you soon!

Thanks for checking in again! We’re excited to be able to share our trip with you. Today the weather was beautiful and our crews all spent the day working outside. And we got a surprise! The local news was doing a story on volunteer organizations in the area and so they came and filmed our painting crew. We will be sending out the web address when we arrive home so that you can watch.

Right now our power is out because of a car accident up the road that hit a power line. It should be fixed by morning, but fortye time being we are making use of flashlights. It’s amazing how many stars you can see when there isn’t a light on for miles.

It’s hard to believe that we are already half way through our trip. We would love prayer for continued energy and enthusiasm. I would also ask that you pray for the continued change within students’ hearts. We are seeing some walls break down and growth in our students and I would love it if the folks back home kept praying for that to occur in big ways.

~~ morning post ~~

Hey folks! Yesterday was a great day. We spent it sorting food, scraping off old paint and tearing down shacks. In the early evening, we went to a Yakama tribe cultural center. It was amazing to see the history of this particular group of Native Americans.

The weather here has been all different each day. Yesterday part of our team was driving through snow and thunderstorms, while today it’s sunny and warm. We’ve discovered that Yakima is called the Palm Springs of Washington, but it sure doesn’t feel like it!

Hope all is well back home. We’re halfway through the trip, so we will be seeing you soon!
